The idea for this parenting website came about following the creation of two youth focused websites called LetsTalkDLR (focused on mental health) and LetsLearnDLR (focused on learning options). Both websites showed the power of hearing the voices of people using services, and what they wanted to know. Based on this inspiration, the Parenting Subgroup of the Children and Young People’s Services Committee (CYPSC) set about discussing and working with a consultant to hear what parents in the county wanted to know about services, how they wanted to be communicated with, and what they thought the website should include and looked like.

Informed by parents, and working with services, we have created LetsParentDLR to be the place to go for any parent, at any stage of their child’s development, and with any need, to find where they can go to get support.
