Tusla Family Support Service

The Child and Family Agency is the dedicated State agency responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children. The Family Support Service provide an in-home parenting support service that works in partnership with families, professionals and communities in the area. We meet with the parents/guardians to identify areas of need and to agree a plan of support. This support plan is led by the parent/guardian. In collaboration with parents/guardians we liaise with other statutory, Tusla funded and community services to ensure the right support at the right time.

Our aim is to empower families to reach their full potential.

Some of the support we can offer include:

  • Parenting on a one-to-one basis and through group programmes including:
  • Nonviolent Resistance (NVR)
  • Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
  • Parents Plus
  • Advice and guidance with household management and budgeting.
  • Support to attend Tusla Social Work meetings and meetings identified by the parent/guardian as requiring support.
  • Advocacy and support in linking with other services identified as benefiting the wellbeing of the family.
  • Support Through the Meitheal Process.
  • Confidence and personal development.
